Every Design Choice Has a Purpose

Here's why it's at the heart of everything we do.

After a recent makeover, one little girl ran into her family's newly transformed room shouting, "Look at our room! Daddy, Daddy, look at our room!"  Her dad looked around and smiled, saying, "Oh yeah... this is it. It's a whole different thing now."

One of my favorite moments at every room reveal is watching residents step into their transformed space for the first time. Before they notice the furniture, artwork, or special touches, there's often a brief pause as they take it all in. Then come the smiles, the hugs, and sometimes tears of joy. In those moments, I'm reminded that we're creating more than a beautiful room—we're creating an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, and supported.

From calming colors and comfortable bedding to children's favorite books and thoughtfully arranged spaces, each room we transform is intentionally designed using trauma-informed principles to foster a sense of comfort and belonging.

None of this would be possible without our incredible community. Every volunteer, every donated item, and every gift helps create environments where residents can focus on what matters most: rebuilding their lives with dignity and hope.

Thank you for believing, as we do, that the spaces around us matter.

With gratitude,
Tina Clossick

Help Us Keep Our Shelves Full

Before A Lotta Love volunteers transform a room, our storage units keep pillows, sheet sets, towels, décor, and other household essentials organized and ready for the next transformation.

Right now, our pillow shelves are looking a little empty. With your help, we can restock these and other essentials so we're ready for the next room transformation.
